Therapy with oral psoralen photochemotherapy (PUVA) and oral beta-carotene was compared in 29 patients with polymorphous light eruption. Complete remission occurred in 90% (9/10) of those treated with PUVA and in 32% (6/19) treated with beta-carotene. In the six patients who were treated in consecutive years with both modalities all had remissions with PUVA while only two had remissions with beta-carotene.
对29例多形性日光疹患者比较了口服补骨脂素光化学疗法（PUVA）和口服β-胡萝卜素的治疗效果。接受PUVA治疗的患者中有90%（9/10）完全缓解，接受β-胡萝卜素治疗的患者中有32%（6/19）完全缓解。在连续两年接受两种治疗方式的6例患者中，所有人接受PUVA治疗时均缓解，而接受β-胡萝卜素治疗时只有2例缓解。
