The first reported case of continuing survival 6 months after left hemispherectomy for glioma in a right-handed adult shows diminishing psychological impairment. Different degrees of initial impairment and in subsequent recovery of propositional speech, verbal comprehension, reading, writing, and other functions indicate quantitative rather than-qualitative differences in adult left-and right-hemispheric functions.
