Abstract

An inert matrix of polymerized normal rabbit serum was given defined antigenicity by allowing selected human proteins to diffuse into small pieces of the gel. After fixation and paraffin embedding, serial sections with uniform distribution of reactive antigen were obtained. Such sections are recommended for determination of specificity and optimal working titre of fluorescent antibodies; as substrate for titration of serum antibodies; and as standards for quantification of tissue antigens.
