Intravenous injection of a tumour cell suspension in rats induced an early tendency to increased fibrinolysis followed by a temporarily, significantly decreased fibrinolytic activity in lung vessels. These reactions were similar to those previously found after a large trauma and might reflect the vascular reaction to thrombotic material trapped in the lung microcirculation.
