[Analysis of respiration in the sleeping infant. Possible relationship to sudden infant death].

Preliminary results are indicating, that disorders of the control of respiration during sleep may be an explanation of the sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). It should be possible to determine individual risk factors for SIDS by means of improved and extended studies, leading finally to a successful prevention of infant's death.
