Abstract
A heterogeneous antibody response was observed in rabbits immunized with crude antigens or pooled active fractions prepared by gelfiltration chromatography. The development of haemagglutinating antibodies, precipitating antibodies and reagin-like (homocytotropic) antibodies was observed. The reagin-like antibodies were shown to be heat-labile, 2-mercaptoethanol sensitive and clearly different from 7S IgG antibodies when localized by Sephadex G-200 gel-filtration chromatography.
