A survey of hospital junior doctors made in 1967-8 showed that there were many features of their work with which they were not content. These included career prospects, hours of work, and salaries. It is suggested that reorganization of the career structure and the provision of better-organized ancillary help would do much to improve the lives of hospital junior doctors.
