Abstract
A single dose of a denatured DNA—methylated bovine serum albumin (DNA—MBSA) complex did not induce detectable primary antibody synthesis in rabbits, but did prime the animals for increasingly large responses in secondary and subsequent courses of immunization. At all times, all detectable serum antibodies were macroglobulins. This macroglobulin synthesis and the primed state persisted for up to 160 days after a previous injection.
