Histological examination of the prostatic nodes enucleated in 364 patients because of nodular hyperplasia revealed in 2 cases focal changes resembling a phyllode hyperplasia of the mammary gland. The third case exhibited a fibro-epithelial papilla with an intensive fibroblast proliferation protruding into the lumen of the gland with a cystic dilatation. It is suggested that the above changes may become an initial stage of the phyllode type focal hyperplasia.
