Abstract

Neutrophils infiltrating the site of aphthous ulceration of the oral mucosa of patients with Behçet's disease were studied in the electron microscope. Infiltrating neutrophils without degenerating in the lamina propria are frequently phagocytosed by large mononuclear cells.
