Organization and relationship of the axonal reticulum in the cell body of sympathetic ganglion cells.

Previous findings and results obtained with the zinc iodide-osmium tetroxide method and a method for demonstration of biogenic amines indicate that the so-called axonal smooth endoplasmic reticulum is directly related to inner elements of the Golgi apparatus. These Golgi elements provide a network for local catecholamine synthesis and/or storage in the cell body and in the axon terminals.
