Abstract
Whipple's disease is frequently recognised only after numerous diagnostic sidetracks. As demonstrated by four patients polyarthritis and fever are characteristic early symptoms for many years. Early consideration of this differential diagnosis and subsequent small intestinal biopsy permit early diagnosis of the disease. Intermittent or long-term antibiotic treatment successfully removes intestinal marasmus and its accompanying symptoms.

惠普尔病常常在经历众多诊断弯路后才得以确诊。正如4例患者所显示的，多年来多关节炎和发热是其典型的早期症状。早期考虑这一鉴别诊断并随后进行小肠活检可实现该病的早期诊断。间歇性或长期抗生素治疗能成功消除肠道消瘦及其伴随症状。
