Are receptor studies useful for clinical practice?

The validity and clinical usefulness of receptor binding studies of psychotropic drugs, particularly the antidepressants, is examined. Data on the affinities of antidepressants for several different neurotransmitter receptors in human brain are presented along with other pharmacologic data on these drugs.
