Pesticides and impurities of theirs with sufficient or limited evidence of carcinogenicity in experimental animals are reviewed. These facts are completed by epidemiological results, obtained from investigations on occupational and municipal exposure to pesticides. The cancer risk deriving from occupational exposure to pesticides is generally low. At present no methods are available, to elicit the carcinogenic effect of pesticides on the whole population.
