The minimum inhibitory concentration values for a group of synthesized heterocyclic systems were determined for Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, yeast and fungi. The active compounds were screened further against a number of yeast and yeast-like organisms and Gram-positive bacteria. The effect of two of these compounds on growth and mutagenicity was also tested. An attempt was made to correlate the structure of the compounds with their antimicrobial activity.
