Abstract
International Harvester Company had developed a unique program utilizing the occupational health nurse as a nurse/health counselor for a corporate alcoholism assistance program. As a result of this program, absenteeism, disability and medical payments, and hospitalizations in a group of 342 employees have significantly declined.
