Batroxobine which induces fibrinogen consumption, accelerates the development of 48/80 and lambda carrageenan oedema: in the rat the various products released from fibrinogen and fibrin increase these inflammatory reactions. 2. Heparin and epsilon-aminocaproic acid have no influence on carrageenan oedema: the derivatives of fibrinogen do not take part in the constitution of the inflammatory reaction induced by carrageenan. 3. The anti-inflammatory action of this sulfated polygalactose does not depend on its anti-coagulant activity.
