A large intrapericardial tumor with pericardial effusion was diagnosed by ultrasound examination in a 32-week gestation fetus. Serial in utero examinations excluded fetal hydrops and normal labor ensued at 38 1/2 weeks. After delivery by Caesarian section, pericardiocentesis and subsequent successful surgery were performed. The tumor was found to be a cavernous hemangioma arising within the pericardium and adherent to the right atrial wall.
