A new human osteosarcoma strain (Os-Beppu) transplantable in nude mice has been established. A high frequency of metastasis (87.2%) to the lung was observed throughout nine passages. Histologically the subcutaneous tumor and the metastatic lesions in nude mice were similar to the original human tumor, and osteoid and osteoclast formation were preserved. Osteoblasts were strongly positive for alkaline phosphatase, while osteoclasts were positive for acid phosphatase. Karyotype analysis revealed human chromosomes with a modal chromosome number of 41 (63.3%) and two marker chromosomes.
已建立一种可移植到裸鼠体内的新型人骨肉瘤细胞系（Os-Beppu）。在整个九代传代过程中，观察到肺转移的高频率（87.2%）。组织学上，裸鼠的皮下肿瘤和转移灶与原始人类肿瘤相似，且保留了类骨质和破骨细胞形成。成骨细胞碱性磷酸酶呈强阳性，而破骨细胞酸性磷酸酶呈阳性。核型分析显示人类染色体，众数染色体数为41（63.3%），还有两条标记染色体。
