Even in surgery the patient wants to be respected not only as a carrier of an affected organ but always as a human personality. He expects sympathy from the medical staff as well as from physicians. He has the right that his identity and his private sphere ware also respected in hospital. Psycho-hygiene in surgical units is an important as meticulous anti- and asepsis.
