A 46-year-old woman developed a squamous carcinoma of the skin that was treated with surgical excision followed by irradiation. The excised tumor showed no epidermal involvement; therefore, it was diagnosed as metastatic squamous carcinoma. However, a 4-year disease-free follow-up indicates that it represents a primary skin tumor. Since the exact histogenesis is unclear, this tumor is tentatively designated "cutaneous adnexal squamous carcinoma."
