Effects of ouabain and furosemide on saliva secretion induced by sympathomimetic agents in isolated, perfused rat submandibular glands.

The presence of 10(-3) M ouabain or furosemide in the perfusate inhibited saliva secretion induced by either isoproterenol (10(-5) M) or phenylephrine (10(-5) M) from isolated rat submandibular glands and caused characteristic alterations in the electrolyte composition of saliva.
