Abstract
Erythrocyte membranes of a patient with excessively high serum fat levels were suspended in a perfusion medium free of immune globulines , protein, and hemoglobine , and then offered for phagocytosis in isolated perfused rat livers. The membrane changes, caused by hyperlipemia, led to a reduced rate of phagocytosis for young and old red cell membranes.
