The monitoring of environmental mutagens/carcinogens. A perspective on tests predicting chemical mutagens/carcinogens in man.

The current interest in the subject of environmental mutagenesis/carcinogenesis has prompted much investigation into ways of identifying chemicals which may pose a genotoxic risk to man and his progeny. Various systems have been developed which measure gene mutation, chromosome damage and DNA repair. The main test systems are briefly discussed as well as their usage and limitations.
