Seven children with the sleep apnoea syndrome are described with reference to symptoms, signs, diagnosis and management. All patients made a symptomatic recovery following adenotonsillectomy, although 2 required tracheostomy. This condition is underdiagnosed and greater clinical awareness is emphasized.
