(1) Sarcoidosis may affect any portion of the visual system. (2) Eye involvement may occur prior to, concurrent with, or after systemic manifestations. (3) Ocular manifestations may be the only complaint. (4) No age group is exempt. (5) Diagnosis may require a high index of suspicion. (6) Ocular sarcoidosis may be more common than is usually appreciated. (7) Ocular manifestations may be more common in black and oriental patients with sarcoidosis than in whites.
