Reaction of bobwhites, coturnix quail, guinea fowl, and mallards to avirulent and virulent Pasteurella multocida.

The CU strain of Pasteurella multocida was moderately virulent for coturnix quail by the oral route and highly virulent for bobwhites by stick-wing. The strain was avirulent for guinea fowl and provided protective immunity by oral or stick-wing routes. Mallards did not react to virulent P. multocida.
