Hemorheologic indexes were studied pre- and postoperatively in 72 patients with gynecological malignancies. Postoperative changes included the rigidity and an increased aggregative ability of erythrocytes, dysproteinemia, an increased coagulatory potential and fibrinolytic activity as well as variations in blood viscosity. The disturbances reached their peak on day 3 after surgery. Later on, rheologic indexes tended to stabilize but never reached the preoperative level.
