The Beer Sheva experience refers to an innovative system that merges comprehensive medical care for a total region with the education of varied health manpower. The academic institution participates in the planning and implementation of all levels of health services. The curriculum for all medical students includes training in basic sciences, clinical medicine and public health throughout the six years of study. Emphasis is placed on the primary care aspect of practice and on basic skills in community medicine.
