[Refusal of information from a legal and medical viewpoint].

Actual or implied refusal by the patient to accept an explanation of his illness is discussed with respect to its legal admissibility and the legal uncertainties for the attending physician. Refusal by the patient to accept information does not absolutely release the doctor from providing an explanation but only from that part which exceeds what is medically appropriate.
