Abstract
A rapid, sensitive, and specific gas chromatographic assay for lidocaine in plasma and blood is reported. The procedure involves a single step extraction of the drug and internal standard, and analysis without derivatization. The method can be modified to include the analysis of lidocaine in tissues.
