The effects of posture on the spread of isobaric and hyperbaric amethocaine were studied after intrathecal injection in 60 patients. Gravity had no effect on the spread of isobaric solutions and, while hyperbaric solutions did spread under the effect of gravity, it was found that posture could not be used to control spread effectively. The results also show that the dose of local anaesthetic injected had a more important effect on the duration of blockade than on the spread.
对60例患者鞘内注射后，研究了体位对等比重和重比重丁卡因扩散的影响。重力对等比重溶液的扩散没有影响，虽然重比重溶液在重力作用下确实会扩散，但发现体位不能有效地控制其扩散。结果还表明，注射的局部麻醉药剂量对阻滞持续时间的影响比对扩散的影响更重要。
