The effect of tuftsin on malignant melanoma was studied in vivo using a murine model system. It was found that tuftsin was capable of significantly reducing the number of tumor colonies appearing in the lungs of mice following iv administration of tumor cells. Although only a limited number of concentrations of tuftsin were used in our preliminary studies, it appears that tuftsin possesses antitumor activity over a wide range of doses.
