Management of several potential physical problems is presented: sore breasts, engorgement, leaking, breast infections, nipple damage, and thrush. Then problem-solving for the separated mother and breastfeeding infant, genetic abnormalities, and slow weight gain are discussed. The final sections deal with maternal medication and environmental contaminants in breast milk.
