The concentrations of plasma calcium and plasma growth hormone were determined up to 30 h of age in 10 infants of diabetic mothers (IDM) and 9 healthy infants. Plasma calcitonin was determined in all IDM and 5 control infants. The results are discussed in relation to the pathogenesis of early neonatal hypocalcemia.
