Abstract
N-Amidino-2-(2,6-dichlorophenyl)-acetamide hydrochloride (guanfacine) reduces blood pressure dose-dependently for more than 38 h. The blood pressure lowering effect is not seen immediately after medication. Side effects are: decrease in heart rate, orthostatic effect, dizziness and weariness.
