[Characteristics of operations on the gastrointestinal track organs using a laser scalpel].

The modes of laser resection of the stomach and gastrectomy with the use of the method of a one-line intestinal suture are described. Recommendations are given on rational use of a laser installation "Scalpel-1" in combination with special auxiliary instruments and suturing devices. The recommendations are based on 230 operations. Nine patients died. The causes of death were not related with the use of laser technique. The authors make a conclusion that the laser scalper should be used but on the key steps of the operation.
