Serological tests complete clinical diagnosis of tuberculosis. Passive hemagglutination and passive hemolysis are of greater usefulness than complement fixation, precipitations, flocculation or agglutination reactions. Antiglobulin technique and combination of several tests are of value. False negative results in cases of tuberculosis and healthy persons serologically false positive are still a problem. New tests with standardized purified polysaccharide, phosphatide and protein are expected to be of value in future.
