[Cruciate ligament lesions. Medico-statistical analysis].

The number of cruciate ligament injuries has grossly increased between 1970 and 1979 in the statistics of the Schweizerische Unfallversicherungsanstalt. Attention is drawn to new and more differentiated methods of diagnoses and therapy. A falloff of the invalidity rate owing to a betterment of diagnoses and therapy can only be observed trendwise. Preventive measures should be demanded above all in sports because there we find the origin of more and more cruciate ligament injuries.
