After analysis of its educational programs showed them to be deficient, Deaconess Hospital, Evansville, IN, undertook the development of a comprehensive, systematic program of education and training. First steps were the establishment of an independent department of education and the preparation of an official position on the use and value of educational programs within the hospital.
