The object of the study is to show the availability of a topical corticosteroïd (difluprednate) from pharmaceutical forms: the gel and cream forms in which the substance is solubilised, the greasy and emulsified forms in which the substance is dispersed. The bioavailability of these forms dosed to 0.025% was evaluated by a cutaneous vasoconstriction test. The results show that the cutaneous penetration of difluprednate is more favourable in the gel and cream forms. The "in vitro" availability of commercial dosage forms (0.05% of difluprednate) and the "in vivo" results are compared and commented.
