Abstract

Increased amounts of autologous immunoglobulin (Ig) G were found on older bovine erythrocytes employing 125I-labelled Protein A, 125I-labelled anti(bovine IgG) antibodies and hemolysis in the presence of anti(bovine IgG) antibodies + complement. In vitro, desialylation, proteolysis and action of an O2-. source but not glycosylation induced binding of extraneous IgG to the erythrocytes.
