An example of keratoacanthomas arising within a congenital linear epidermal nevus is documented. Previously reported cases indicate that squamous-cell carcinoma, basal-cell epithelioma, and keratoacanthoma may develop In linear epidermal nevi. Any recently appearing nodule in a linear epidermal nevus should raise the clinician's index of suspicion for one of these secondary tumors.
