The antibody-binding capacity of cricket paralysis virus was only slightly reduced by inactivation with heat or formaldehyde. However, Galleria mellonella larvae vaccinated with such inactivated cricket paralysis virus preparations and subsequently challenged with live homologous virus were not protected.
