Statistical data on the frequency of traffic accidents (run over) of pedestrians, mechanism, localization, and severity of the produced injury are dealt with. Role of the medico-legal expert examining injuries caused by accidents, his opportunities in reconstruction of events and in prevention of accidents are reviewed. Importance of the complex work of medico-legal and technical experts and the possibility of it at the present time are discussed. Mental and psychical characteristics of children playing a part in the traffic are also summarized. At last most important problems of the prevention of the traffic accidents of pedestrians are briefly reviewed.
