[The use of F2 alpha prostaglandins by extra-amniotic instillation for the sake of planning the timing of deliveries (author's transl)].

The authors report on the study of 82 labours which were induced by local intra-cervical administration of prostaglandin and show the new possibilities that are opened up by using this technique in order to plan the work of an obstetric department. Induction in this way is really efficacious, and the labour that is the result is comparable to spontaneous labours. There was no pathological complication from the induction with the exception of a few incidents that will be avoided when the technique has been worked out a little more thoroughly.
