The study of the nucleoli in the lymphocytes of human peripheral blood and articular exudations revealed that the lymphocytes in inflammatory articular exudations possess not only a higher number of compact nucleoli, nucleoli with nucleolonemas and micronucleoli but also a higher number of horseshoe-shaped and bead-shaped nucleoli. Since the horseshoe-shaped and bead-shaped nucleoli are apparently a morphological expression of progressive inhibition of synthesis of nucleolar RNA, their higher number in mature lymphocytes of articular exudations indicates that the inflammatory process in articular exudations is associated with progressive inhibition of nucleolar RNA in mature lymphocytes (11). This observation is added to the previously reported (12) stimulation of transcription of this nucleic acid in activated lymphocytes.
对人类外周血和关节渗出液中淋巴细胞核仁的研究表明，炎症性关节渗出液中的淋巴细胞不仅具有数量更多的致密核仁、带有核仁丝的核仁以及微核仁，而且还具有数量更多的马蹄形和串珠形核仁。由于马蹄形和串珠形核仁显然是核仁RNA合成进行性抑制的一种形态学表现，它们在关节渗出液成熟淋巴细胞中的数量增加表明，关节渗出液中的炎症过程与成熟淋巴细胞中核仁RNA的进行性抑制有关（11）。这一观察结果补充了先前报道的（12）活化淋巴细胞中这种核酸转录受到刺激的情况。
