An observation of mucoromycotic sinusitis in a patient with diabetes mellitus is described. The disease was in the form of acute progressive suppurative-necrotic maxillary sinusitis-ethmoiditis complicating an abscess of the nasal septum. Mucoromycosis was diagnosed by histological examinations of tissues removed from the affected sinuses. Pathomorphology of this disease was characterized by deep invasion of the fungus into the tissues including blood vessels, the development of vascular disorders, extensive necroses, formation of nonspecific granulomas.
