Propagation of action potential in Tradescantia multicolor stem induced by the damage of one of the leaves with a burn was studied by extracellular recording. The dependence of signal propagation velocity on the stem electric resistance was obtained. The effect of plant physiological state on signal propagation velocity was shown. The data obtained are explained by the presence of vector properties in the conducting systems stipulated by the gradients of its electrical properties.
