Haemagglutinating serum and salivary antibody responses after oral and intragastric antigen. A revised estimate.

Using the experimental protocol and methods previously described, we find consistently different results from those reported for salivary and some serum antibody levels, as detected by passive haemagglutination. All salivas, plus sera from intragastrically-challenged rats were negative. Rats given oral antigen had low titre serum antibody with a 60% response. The technical reasons for the discordant results are discussed.
